The Met Confidant tea towel takes its name from the classical Chinese phrase for a kindred spirit encountered unexpectedly — the rare and unhurried connection that a carefully prepared tea session invites. Woven in cotton-linen from Dehua County, it brings quiet warmth to the tea table in six colourways drawn from the tones of Chinese ink painting and natural dye: khaki, dark blue, red, coffee, sky blue, and purple blue.
At 30 × 14.5 cm, it is sized for precise use — as a pot rest beneath a teapot, a drip catcher under a gaiwan, or a presentation layer beneath a cup set before guests arrive. The cotton-linen construction breathes well, dries quickly, and softens gracefully with repeated washing without losing its structure.
Fine-sewn edges throughout. Pairs naturally with bamboo tea trays, Yixing clay teapots, and celadon teaware. A small piece that repays attention.
